The tourist tariff is regulated by the Royal Government of Bhutan in line with a policy of ‘High Value, Low Impact’ tourism.
The minimum daily package covers the following essential services:
- Accommodation in the 3 star (4 & 5-star hotel may require an additional premium)
- All meals
- Allowance for tour guide for entire trip
- Entry fees for Museums
- All internal transport (excluding domestic flights)
- Camping equipment and haulage for trekking tours
It also includes:
All internal taxes and charges
Royalty of $ 65 (Contribution towards free education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation along with the building of infrastructure)
The minimum daily package for tourists travelling in a group of 3 persons or more is as hereunder:
USD 200 per person per night during the off seasons, i.e. in January, February, June, July, August, and December.
USD 250 per person per night during the peak season, i.e. from March-May and September-November.
Visa fee USD 40 per person (payable one time only)
Surcharge USD 40 for 1 person per night/USD 30 for 2 persons per person per night
- The above 50% and 100% off is entitled to the tour leaders
- The extra supplement is applicable base on the request in the infrastructure and services like:
- a) Staying in the luxury hotels or upgrade to the superior class in the standard hotel
b)Request for language guide such as Japanese, German, Guide and other specific language other than English
Except for the nationals from India and Bangladesh, all guests are required to obtain Bhutanese visa prior to departure from their respective countries. Visas are only issued when a confirmed booking through a Bhutanese or international tour operator has been made. Visa shall be processed before four weeks of start of tour by a local tour operator upon the receipt of duly filled visa application form and copy of passport from a visitor.
The visa will be faxed/emailed to you for reference and a copy will be shared with the visa officer in the entry point as well to the Drukair/Royal Bhutan Airlines station officers in different countries. Without travel visa one may not be allowed to board the flight.
Visa fee is US$ 40 per person. Upon entry to Bhutan, the visa will be stamped in the passport by the Immigration Authorities in Bhutan.
Tour deposit must be made four weeks in advance by wire transfer in the given address.
